Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children - Worcester Region
The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights and well-being of children and families throughout the state.
Description:
In the Worcester Country region, including the Regional Office on Lincoln Street and three satellite offices, MSPCC provides a community-based network of services focused on meeting the needs of the family as a whole in order to promote a healthy, nurturing environment for children. In addition to our client programs for prevention, treatment, and support, we serve as a resource for those who work with children and families through our Institute for Professional Education, and the many partnerships we have developed with agencies and institutions which serve children and families.
History:
The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1878, and will celebrate its 125th anniversary in April of this year. The agency's services have evolved throughout this history to meet the specific needs of the times, and now include a broad array of proven, effective services including home visiting programs, family counseling centers, mental health and substance abuse treatment, advocacy and community education, child welfare programs and partnerships, education, research, and evaluation.
