Description:
Foothills Theatre Company is central New England’s premiere full-time, professional, Actor’s Equity Association, non-profit theatre company. The theatre was founded in 1974 with a mission to produce works which will entertain, educate, and enlighten a broad-based audience.

This $1.6 million theatre produces an eight show regular season from September through May, as well as operating a children’s theatre and professional theatre school. Foothills produces approximately 300 performances annually with an average yearly attendance of 70,000+ patrons. Foothills patrons come from Worcester (40%), from the immediate surrounding towns (45%), and from a 50-mile radius of Worcester (15%).

Foothills operates under the guidance of a 15-member Board of Directors, as well as 15 full-time artistic, administrative, production, and house staff members. Foothills currently receives help from over 100 volunteers, who assist in many areas of the theatre. Foothills employs over 250 part-time professional artisans per season for performance, production, and administrative purposes.

Foothills is committed to providing access to live theatre for as wide a segment of our region’s population as possible. Currently, Foothills provides facility access for people with mobility impairment, assistive listening devices for the hearing impaired, open dress rehearsals for the developmentally disabled, and audio described performances for the blind and visually impaired.

Our Education and Young Audiences Program provides morning student matinees, ticket subsidies, learning guides for schools, internships for local high school and college students, a year-round children’s theatre, and a year-round actor-training program for both children and adults.
