Agency Details:
Community Harvest Project
At the Community Harvest Project Brigham Hill Community farm, local communities come together as volunteers to grow high quality produce for local food banks. Through this work, we provide opportunities for people to learn and experience the value of agriculture and community service while helping their neighbors.
Description:
Community Harvest Project grows vegetables for the Worcester County Food Bank using volunteers from the community. All of our produce is donated and all the work is done by volunteers.
History:
This organization started in the early 1970's in Hopkinton. Bill and Rose Abbott formed Food for the Needy and in 2001 the name was changed to Community Harvest Project. A new state of the art farm and education center is being operated in Grafton, MA. This year all farming efforts a being conducted in Grafton.
