Description:
Alternatives is a non-profit human service agency providing skills and support to individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities throughout Central Massachusetts. We collaborate to create personalized, flexible and cost-effective services which foster fulfilling roles at home, at work and in the community. State funding sources describe Alternatives as "an honest, straight forward organization with a sense of humor that consistently shows vision and innovation."

History:
Since 1976, Alternatives has helped hundreds of individuals unnecessarily institutionalized return to their homes and regain their place as contributing members of society. With support from Alternatives, 650 men and women from over 40 communities throughout Central Massachusetts are able to begin each day with a personalized plan to improve their own lives.
