Wayside Trauma Intervention Services Valley Rape Crisis Program

Wayside Trauma Intervention Services Valley Rape Crisis Program seeks to assist survivors and their families throughout the process of healing from violence and trauma.

Description:
Wayside Trauma Intervention Services Rape Crisis Program offers a variety of services, including a 24-hour hotline, crisis counseling, group counseling, advocacy at the hospital, with the police and in courts. We also offer education programs, do community outreach, and offer resources and referrals.

Wayside youth and Family Support Network, the parent organization, is a non-profit, nationally accredited human service agency dedicated to building strength, hope and resiliency through its counseling programs, residential group homes, and family-based outreach services to over 5,000 children, youth and families throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts.

History:
Wayside's story began in 1977 when a group of citizens formed one of the first residences in New England for runaway and homeless youth - Harbinger House. As the need for alternatives to orphanages, reform schools, and psychiatric hospitals grew, Wayside responded by expanding to include an array of services which support youth and families in their communities. Over the years, the Wayside network has incorporated a number of long-standing, local community organizations. They share Wayside's commitment to helping the children and families of the region, complementing Wayside's overall spectrum of care. Today, Wayside is one of Massachusetts' most respected child and family serving agencies.
