First Night Worcester is the largest one-day celebration of the arts in Central Massachusetts.

Description:
New Year's Eve in Worcester is now a day-long festival featuring more than 100 performances and family activities that take place in over 20 locations in downtown Worcester. But First Night Worcester isn't only about New Year's Eve - the First Night Worcester organization works all year through outreach programs and artist-in-residence programs, with schools and other groups to bring the arts "off the pedestal."

History:
First Night Worcester started as an independent, grass-roots organization in 1981. It has since become an award-winning, nationally acclaimed event, praised for its innovation and creative excellence.
