Women who work full time earn about 77 cents for every dollar men earn. A WAGE Club is a group of women that meet regularly and have a series of strategy sessions to share and provide information and discuss what to do if they are being paid unfairly, as well as to provide public awareness of pay inequity issues. WAGE Clubs were initiated by the previous MA Lieutenant Governor, Evelyn Murphy. The YWCA began a WAGE Club in 2006. We hold monthly meetings and have a special event each spring to educate others. Although the staff is very interested, there is very little time available to dedicate to the Club. We are looking for someone who would help to spread the word about our WAGE Club, notify people of meetings, attend meetings and e-mail brief follow up notes on them. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with good communication skills who would be able to attend our 4:00 meetings once a month and help us coordinate our communication and activities. It's a very interesting cause. This opportunity is sponsored by: Young Parents Program
