Commonwealth Corps Member. Pernet Family Health Service - Fund Development Specialist. Commonwealth Corps, a program launched last year by Governor Deval Patrick's office in conjunction with Massachusetts Service Alliance, has funded Pernet Family Health Service to support four service opportunities in the Green Island and lower Vernon Hill neighborhoods of Worcester. The mission of the Commonwealth Corps is to engage Massachusetts residents of all ages and backgrounds in direct service to rebuild communities and address their unmet needs. Commonwealth Corps will provide opportunities for skill building and leadership development to encourage and enhance a lifelong civic vocation for its members. This member will work with a team of three other members serving at Pernet Family Health Service. Half-time members are required to serve at least 800 hours over the course of ten months, and will receive a stipend of up to $5000 distributed over ten months and up to $900 as an end-of-service bonus. The application deadline for this position is as soon as possible.
Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially the ability to interpret Pernet Family Health Service's mission for various audiences • Creativity in designing and carrying out campaigns to supplement Pernet's Family and Community Development program with additional sources of funding • Respect and compassion for Pernet Family Health Service's clients and their efforts to care for themselves and their families • Flexibility in dealing with changes in schedules and programs • Ability to meet deadlines and work as a member of a team. Take I-90 (Mass Pike) to Auburn Exit. Follow signs to 290 East, Worcester. Take Exit 12, Brosnihan Square. Proceed in left lane off ramp, curving left under the bridge. Make an immediate right after the bridge onto Millbury Street. Go one block. Pernet is on the right at the corner of Seymour Street. The main entrance is on Millbury Street. There is on-street parking.
From the East:
Take Route 495 to Route 290 West, through the downtown area. Take Exit 12, Brosnihan Square/Route 146. Stay left and curve left under two bridges (under 290 twice). Take an immediate right after the second bridge onto Millbury Street. Go one block. Pernet is on the right at the corner of Seymour Street. The main entrance is on Millbury Street. There is on-street parking.
From the South:
Take Route 146 to the end. You will feed onto the road leading to the on-ramp to 290. Stay to the left and go under the bridge instead of onto 290. Take an immediate right after the bridge onto Millbury Street. Go one block. Pernet is on the right at the corner of Seymour Street. The main entrance is on Millbury Street. There is on-street parking.
