Volunteer with Homeless Children

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Playspace Programs of Horizons for Homeless Children is seeking volunteers to interact and play with children living in family homeless and domestic violence shelters throughout Central Massachusetts. A commitment of 2 hours per week for 6 months is required. Daytime and evening hours available. Please call (508)755-2615 for training information and an application, or visit www.horizonsforhomelesschildren.org to apply online.

All volunteers must participate in a training. Volunteers must be at least 18. If they are 16 or 17, they may volunteer with their parent or guardian.

 From the West: Take I-90 (Mass Pike)to Auburn exit. Follow signs to 290 East, Worcester. Take Exit 12, Brosnihan Square. Proceed in left lane off ramp, curving left under the bridge. Make an immediate right after bridge onto Millbury St. Go one block. The Horizons Initiative is located on the third floor of Pernet Family Health Service which is on the right at the corner of Seymour St. Parking is on street.

I LOVE it!!! i Look forward to it every week i love the kids!!
 The agency i am with is YouInc. Its for homless teenage mothers and there kids. We watch 6 kids 2 can't walk and the rest are toddlers.My sister and my mother do it with me!I really look forward to every Tusday from 5-7. The kids are wonderful challenging at times of course but soooo worth it!It gives the mothers a break as well as the kids and i enjoy well pretty much every minute of it!:)
