FCCAU is a faith based and civic organization that provides emergency shelter and transitional programs for the homeless of Harford County; and to assist and empower individuals to achieve an independent life.

Description:
FCCAU operates 2 shelters. The Welcome One Emergency Shelter is a 28 bed night shelter in Belcamp, MD. This permanent shelter, provided by Harford County government, is open from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am, 365 nights a year. Residents must apply for night shelter at the Department of Social Services in Bel Air and be transported to the shelter.
The Welcome One Fellowship Center, a drop-in day center in Edgewood, MD., is open Mon. to Fri. from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, year around. Any person who needs services may attend.

History:
FCCAU has provided shelter for the homeless since 1999, when concerned citizens began a winter shelter that rotated in area churches. The Fellowship Center opened July 2005 to provide services during the summer months when the cold weather shelter was closed. More than 650 individuals (unduplicated) have received services since the center opened.
The Emergency Shelter opened September 11, 2007. It has sheltered 280 individuals (unduplicated) since opening: 112 found employment; 118 secured housing; 95 attended AA/NA meetings; 115 received mental health case management through a partnership with Alliance, Inc.; 98 received medical treatment through partnerships with local health agencies.
