Logo

The mission of Extreme Family Outreach is to provide at-risk youth and their families with the tools necessary to build positive character and produce contributing citizens. EFO utilizes a holistic approach that incorporates music, the arts, and entertainment to provide outreach and after-school programs directly to under-served populations in their communities. EFO is committed to building a community of children who know that they can create a successful future by empowering them to discover their gifts and talents while teaching healthy living and fostering positive adult-youth relationships. It is our firm belief that we can reach the families of our community by impacting the lives of our children.

Description:
EFO has just begun its 5th fall semester and has delivered a series of positive messages utilizing their signature interactive methods to an average of 325 youth and adults per week. EFO will break from our outdoor programs just before our Christmas festivities, which will include a community Christmas party, to provide weather friendly programs at the SCUBE DO Children's Center until we resume outdoor programming in early April of 2009. During the 11 week spring semester, we will continue to deliver fun, age-appropriate, culturally competent, interactive messages to hundreds of youth and families. EFO operates 5 programs per week, 4 directly in housing complexes/communities (2 outdoor and 2 with indoor facilities available) and 1 every Sunday in their Edgewood Children's Center.

History:
Since its inception in 2004, EFO has worked diligently to make an impact in the lives of the youth in Harford County. Over the last 4 years, EFO has developed long-lasting relationships with youth and families in Edgewood, Joppatowne, and Baltimore via their outreach and sidewalk after-school programs. Their sidewalk afterschool programs are intended to empower youth to make the best choices for their futures, families, and communities.
