The mission of the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County, Inc. ("VCAAC") is to connect people and resources through volunteerism to create a vibrant community of service in Anne Arundel County. Our tagline is "We Help People Volunteer".
Description:
The Volunteer Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which opened in July 2001. Through the Volunteer Center, people who live and work in Anne Arundel County can match their interests, experience, skills and time commitments with the volunteer organizations that need them. The VCAAC is the sole countywide resource to connect potential volunteers with opportunities to meet local community needs.
History:
Established in 2001, The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with an annual budget of approximately $100,000, acts as an information clearinghouse for volunteer projects and opportunities. As of June 2006, we have referred over 9,400 volunteers to more than 260 nonprofit, governmental and faith-based community agencies. These volunteers create nearly $2,000,000 of value added to Anne Arundel County in volunteer time per year.
