For 25 years The Vegetarian Resource Group has made it easier to be vegetarian by assisting businesses, health professionals, food services, schools, and consumers. Our printed materials and website provide practical tips and scientific information for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Description:
The Vegetarian Resource Group has information about Baltimore restaurants offering vegetarian options, ingredient information, and speaker referral. VRG conducts research and advocacy around vegetarian and vegan issues. We offer two $5,000 college scholarships per year for high school seniors who have promoted vegetarianism. We have sold over 90,000 of our Simply Vegan, and more than 90,000 of our Meatless Meals for Working People are in print. Other publications include Vegetarian Journal magazine; books such as Vegan Meals for One or Two, Vegan Menu for People with Diabetes, The Lowfat Jewish Vegetarian Cookbook, Vegan in Volume, and Vegetarian Journal's Guide to Natural Foods Restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. Handouts includes Vegetarianism in a Nutshell, Vegetarian Nutrition for Teens, I Love Animals and Broccoli Coloring Books, and Una Dieta Vegetariana. History:
The Vegetarian Resource Group started in 1982 in Baltimore, and currently has members around the country. 150,000 people per month visit our website <WWW.VRG.ORG>. We are the number one listing on Google when you look up vegetarian. Our nutrition advisor is co-author of The American Dietetic Association position paper on vegetarianism.
