Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Tutors work one-on-one with adults with very low reading abilities. Tutors meet weekly with their learner and work on basic reading, writing, math and/or life skills. The opportunity for one-on-one attention boosts self confidence for many learners who have had negative experiences in the classroom environment.

Tutors meet with their learner once or twice a week for a minimum of 8 hours per month. Pairs can meet in the daytime, evening or Saturday hours, depending on their schedule. Tutors must complete 12 hours of training before being paired with a learner.
