Description:
This is the public school education system serving the communities of Clearwater, Clear Lake, Collegeville, Luxemburg, Pleasant Lake, St. Augusta, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, and Waite Park. District 742 Community Education sponsors the District's Volunteer Services. The goal of this program is to supplement, enrich, and enhance student education experiences and curriculum and strengthen community and school relations. Key words: kids, children, primary grades, school age, teens, students, elementary, high school, preschool, kindergarten.
History:
While most elementary schools had (and continue to have) active parent volunteers helping in their own children's schools, District 742's Volunteer Services began on a formal basis in 1984. It was initially established to help link community members (other than parents) with the volunteer opportunities existing in our schools. Originally 18 volunteers registered and were assigned as school volunteers. Over 800 volunteers now register and are assigned per school year.
