Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota
Epilepsy Foundation's Mission is to enhance the quality of life of those affected by Seizures. We provide programs that educate, connect and empower people affected by seizure disorders. Our vision is to encourage acceptance, to provide accessible and effective resources, to work with other organizations to meet the needs of those with epilepsy and to be a policy advocate for people with epilepsy.

With our vision in mind we have implemented a four core program base; Epilepsy Awareness Programs, Youth & Family Programs, Information and Referral and Advocacy & Support. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder of the brain that affects more than 60,000 people in Minnesota. Epilepsy is the 3rd most common neurological disorder after stroke and Alzheimer's disease. One in every 10 Americans will experience a seizure at some point in their lives.
History:
The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota is a local affiliate of the Epilepsy Foundation, a national organization that works for people affected by seizures through research, education, advocacy and service. There are more than 60 affiliates across the country. The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota began in 1954 as the Minnesota Epilepsy League and incorporated in 1957. The name then changed to Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota in 1984. Currently EFM has four office locations: Duluth, St. Paul, St. Cloud and Rochester.
