St Cloud Area Faith in Action

St Cloud Area Faith in Action is a nondenominational, faith-based program that is part of a network of faith communities throughout the United States. Our purpose is to encourage congregations and individuals to reach out and serve one another as friends and neighbors. Our mission is to provide volunteer services that will enable older adults and people with disabilities to remain living independently in their homes for as long as possible. The St Cloud Area Faith in Action program serves people in St Cloud, Waite Park, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, and Rice.

Description:
St Cloud Area Faith in Action is a coalition of local congregations, service oriented groups and individuals. The goal of this program is to reach out and serve community members as friends and neighbors. The program connects people in need with community resources and volunteers who provide direct services to care receivers . Services provided include transportation, household chores such as grocery shopping and light housekeeping, respite care, companionship and minor home repairs. Services are provided to help people remain independently in their homes. The program strives to develop long term relationships between volunteers and care receivers whenever possible.

History:
The St Cloud Area Faith in Action program was formed in October, 2003 , through funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the MN Dept of Human Services.
