AccountAbility Minnesota (AAM) is a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing tax preparation and accounting services to individuals and small businesses with limited resources by leveraging volunteer resources.

Description:
AccountAbility Minnesota's Taxpayer Services program was established with the belief that an individual's access to tax assistance and, by extension, important financial supports applied for through a tax return, should not depend solely on his or her ability to pay for such services.

AccountAbility Minnesota engages a dedicated team of over 400 volunteer accountants, tax practitioners, accounting students and individuals to help thousands of low-income taxpayers navigate the tax reporting system so they may satisfy a tax liability or realize benefits they are due.

History:
AccountAbility Minnesota is the only community-based nonprofit organization in the state with a mission solely devoted to pro bono accounting and tax assistance.

Since 1971, tax and accounting professionals have recognized a community need for their special skills. Eager to contribute, they have generously applied their expertise to public service.
