Volunteer Opportunity Details:

A trained volunteer spends one to four hours per week with the care recipient, providing a safe environment and companionship while the caregiver is away.

Caregiving for a loved one is a challenge even when the caregiver is highly motivated. The caregiver needs time away to refresh themselves. The volunteer acts as a concerned listener who also works to help the caregiver explore available resources related to their care recipient's needs.

Anyone can refer. Need permission of the person referred. All information is confidential. Refer through Elder Network offices. Elder Network case worker sees client. Trained volunteers are matched. Visiting begins.
