Anna Marie's shelter for battered women and children needs groups of 2-4 volunteers every Saturday and Sunday to cook lunch and/or dinner for our residents. We provide the food and the kitchen; you and a friend, relative, fellow student, or co-worker come in to prepare the meal for the residents. After the meal is served, you may choose to dine with the residents. This can be a one-time event or something that you repeat. Most do -- it's a lot of fun, and very rewarding. Non-violent lifestyle Age 18 and over; age 13-17 must be mature and supervised by a parent or guardian Women and men both welcome; all groups must contain at least one female volunteer Comfortable cooking simple meals for large groups Self-initiative in finding things and figuring them out Diplomatic, assertive, and respectful communication skills
