Job Title Short Term/Special Event Volunteer Department All Reports To Specified Management
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Share a hobby or talent with children in program setting. Assist staff with a special program or event. Serve as a speaker for a small-group activity. Assist with an organization or site project. Can be a one time or short term commitment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
promotes and stimulate program participation; provides guidance and role modeling to members. Maintains a safe environment for members, both physically and emotionally. Exhibits a warm, concerned attitude that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals as well as groups.
- Participates as an active, positive team member with supervisor, staff, other volunteers and members at all times by communicating effectively.
- Ensures a productive work environment by participating in open communication and/or meetings.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for care and maintenance of program equipment, supplies and facility including clean up and proper use.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Ability to relate well with children and adults in Boys & Girls Club group environment.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and mobile when supervising groups of children.
- Is aware of Boys & Girls Club/KIDSTOP volunteer policies and will abide by them.
FUNDAMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS Maintains close, daily contact with Club members, staff, volunteers and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues and explain guidelines/ instructions. Maintains positive relations with the general public and member families at all times.
