The Disability Linkage Line, in partnership with Independent Lifestyles-Centers for Independent Living, provides assistance to individuals seeking answers on resources, public benefits, financial programs, navigating through services, etc. etc. all through the www. MinnesotaHelp.info website at our Aging & Disability Resource Center held at the St. Cloud Public Library the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month from 10-12:00.

Consumers of all ages can meet with trained volunteers and staff to find answers to resources or be connecting to the right agency for answers. We also provide forms assistance on basic Minnesota Healthcare Programs, Fuel Assistance, unemployment, Social Security Disability, etc.

Social Security staff also attends with us at this site the 3rd Wednesday to provide their expertise as well.

Our volunteers sit down with a consumer in a private, objective setting to just answer questions. Finally, answers at one location! Not having to be sent to this agency, then this agency or call this number, etc. If we don't know the answer we will research and get back to the consumer through follow up if need be.

Volunteers for Disability Linkage Line would have to undergo a background check, receive traiining by the Disability Linkage Line Coordinator, Sharon Notch, and go through an interview process with the Executive Director of SEMCIL (Southeastern Minnesota Centers for Independent Living. (Informal interview, all done over the phone....)
The DLL Coordinator will meet with the volunteer in St. CLoud and provide training there.

Interested persons must be skilled at navigating through the Internet, know how to use basic office equipment, etc. Honesty, integrity are a must as consumer confidentiality is extremely essential in this volunteer opportunity.
