Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on April 1, 2009 |
Reader's Theatre Cast Members share stories with grade school age children by reading from scripts using their voices to bring the story to life. Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein are just a few of the authors that create reading and performance enjoyment in the classroom. The volunteers will participate as a group, in approximately 4-5 performances per month at local schools or community events. Volunteers may also be called upon to participate in rehearsals, choose age appropriate scripts, and make group decisions with the interest of the audience and the promotion of literacy in mind. Volunteers will also participate in reflection sessions throughout the year. Volunteers must be age 55 years and better, have the ability to work well in a team, and posses a quality of voice and animation of character. Volunteers must love to read and have a desire to share their excitement about reading with students. This opportunity is sponsored by: Greater St. Cloud Area Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
