Teach someone English and get a free tour of another country! The Minnesota Literacy Council seeks enthusiastic volunteers to partner with adult immigrants and refugees learning English. Meet people from around the world while imparting skills to help learners succeed in the United States. Volunteers will gain insight into the immigrant experience while making a lasting difference in the life of an adult learner. Teachers, classroom assistants, one-to-one and small group tutors - all are needed.
No previous tutoring experience is necessary; training is provided. The only language requirement is the ability to speak, read and write English. Time commitment is 2-3 hours per week for a six month minimum. Flexible morning, afternoon and evening opportunities are available.
