Drivers Occasionally Needed for Residents of New Beginnings

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on June 30, 2009

Occasionally we are in need of volunteers to transport our residents to places they cannot reach using the bus system, or from one place to another between appointments, or to various workplaces or apartments to drop off applications. Residents may be pregnant or have babies with them (with their own car seats). Volunteers are usually notified of driving opportunities about a week in advance.

A volunteer driver would need to have his/her own vehicle, a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance. If you are interested in volunteering, you can set up an initial meeting to learn more information, have a tour of New Beginnings, and fill out an application and background study. Males can provide transportation as long as it is for two or more residents at once; otherwise, only females can transport individual residents.
