Winter Camp Counselor Opportunities for Teens to Volunteer

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 3, 2009

Winter Camp will be held in December 2004 and January 2005. Sign up for one week or both weeks - it is up to the amount of time the volunteer has to commit. Our volunteer winter camp counselors help camping participants become involved in numerous outdoor and indoor winter camping activities. From snow-mobiling and ice-fishing, to arts and crafts and music, winter camp is a unique and memorable experience for all participants. Youth ages 14-18 stay on camp for the week and help in the cabin during the day and have the evenings off to relax in their cabin. Volunteers leave winter camp profoundly changed by the experience and begin to anxiously await summer camp.

Volunteers must participate in the orientation and training in December. Volunteers do not help with personal care, wheelchair transfers, dressing, and bathing. Instead, they help during activities, meal times, cabin clean up, and bring extra energy to the group.

For the time I did it was fun.

I volunteered my time at Camp Friendship for 2 years and loved and now i want to have my cousins experience the same thing. I also volunteer at a hospital close by so that i can help those whoe are sick.
