Description:
Blair Street Gardens is a private, non-profit community organization which for 22 years has designed, planted and maintained the gardens at the intersection of John Nolen Drive and Blair, Wilson and Williamson Streets in Madison, Wisconsin. We have no paid staff, and rely on volunteer labor to rake, plant, mulch, prune and weed. (Occasionally we hire a landscaper for major work). Our annual budget is about $10,000 a year. We receive no government or foundation funds, and rely solely on contributions from individuals and businesses.
History:
We are a 501 (3) (c) organization, incorporated in 1986. Since then, volunteers have designed, planted and maintained the gardens in front of the Gateway, next to MGE and across from the Cardinal Bar.
