Agency Details:
Madison Metropolitan School District
The goal of English in the Schools is to help parents become more connected with their child's school and to become active partners in their child's education.
Description:
English in the Schools is a joint effort between the Literacy Network and the Madison Metropolitan School District. English in the Schools provides free English lessons to the parents of children attending MMSD elementary schools. The program offers free childcare and is looking for volunteers to work with children ages 2-12. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to work with English learners, practice Spanish and possibly other languages, gain experience working with children and anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of parents making an effort to become active partners in their child's education.
History:
The Literacy Network and the Madison Metropolitan School District began English in the Schools in 2003 and is happy to continue to provide this service to parents with children in the Madison Metropolitan School District.
