Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. is a neighborhood association covering many downtown area neighborhoods. We are always looking for ways to improve the standard of living for downtown residents, home owners and renters alike. Period Garden Park is a city owned park in the Mansion Hill District, and is cared for by volunteers through Capitol Neighborhoods Inc.

Description:
Many topics are a concern, such as homeless issues, improving city services, outreach to seniors, streets and development projects, volunteer coordinating to improve city parks and green spaces, historical preservation, crime and safety issues are just a few of the many topics we work with. Our listing here is primarily to achieve more volunteer commitment from students to help us with the care and maintenance of one our city neighborhood parks, Period Garden Park, located in the Mansion Hill District.

History:
Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. has been a downtown neighborhood association since 1984. We have been active in the community ever since, and cover six districts of the downtown Madison area. Period Garden Park has had an organized volunteer team under Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. since 2006. Many improvements for our neighborhood city park have happened since Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. became more involved in it's care and maintenance. No city funds are available to help us care for the park, and an all volunteer group takes care of %100 of the maintenance. All funds are raised by private donations and city grants.
