The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin is a non-profit corporation dedicated to making Wisconsin and its communities the best place in the world to be on a bicycle.

Description:
The Bike Fed works to advocate, educate and coordinate bicycle interests in Wisconsin.

-Formed in 1988, the Bike Fed is one of the oldest bicycling organizations in the United States.

-The Bike Fed is supported by its nearly 4,000 members throughout Wisconsin.

-The members elect a 15-person Board of Directors to oversee the work of the organization.

-The executive director leads a staff six full-time and a dozen part-time employees.

-Offices are located in Madison and Milwaukee.

-Volunteers are essential to the operation of the Bike Fed and are extensively involved in its projects and programs.

-The key to extending the reach and influence of the Bike Fed is a statewide network of cycling advocates and educators.

The Bike Fed speaks and works for cyclists of all interests and in all parts of the state.

History:
The Bike Fed originally started as a member-based volunteer-run organization in 1988, and has since grown to be a widely recognized professionally organization with offices in Madison and Milwaukee. With nearly 4,000 members state-wide and support of Wisconsin's cycling industry, the Bike Fed has a great opportunity to make Wisconsin and its communities some of the greatest places in the world to be on a bicycle.
