Three Gaits, Inc
It is the mission of Three Gaits, Inc. to provide an effective therapeutic riding program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs. Therapeutic riding uses equine-oriented activities to promote and enhance the development of each rider's cognitive, physical, and communicative abilities, and positive self-esteem. Three Gaits strives to serve all interested individuals within Dane County and the surrounding area.
Description:
Three Gaits, Inc. is a therapeutic riding program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs. Using equine oriented activities to promote and enhance the development of each rider's cognitive, physical, and communicative abilities, and positive self-esteem. We offer the chance for students to extend the goals of therapy, special education, recreation, and competition into horsemanship experience.
History:
Three Gaits, Inc., founded in 1983, is located near Stoughton, Wisconsin. Three Gaits is a non-profit, tax exempt organization whose mission is to provide an effective therapeutic horsemanship program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs. Three Gaits has experienced tremendous growth. The riding program serves more than 275 riders annually. Riders participate in group lessons with the focus of teaching riding skills, the Hippotherapy program ( a session that uses the horse's movement as a tool in treating clients), while others participate in un-mounted activities.
