Family Enhancement
Family Enhancement works with parents to strengthen families so that children will become healthy, capable, and responsible adults, ready to raise and support future generations of children.
Family Enhancement believes that families are the cornerstone for healthy growth and development of children. We work throughout the community to improve parenting skills for children and their families. We believe time and resources spent to strengthen family functioning will ultimately reduce long term costs to society.
Description:
Family Enhancement offers facilitated parenting discussion groups covering topics of interest to parents that generally meet weekly and are open to all parents interested in learning more about parenting. The groups are generally free of charge. Family Enhancement also offers Play and Learn opportunities every morning of the week. These are age-appropriate parent/child activities meant to stimulate bonding, growth, development and school readiness. Look for the FunZone (at Fordem Avenue location) and PalZones (scattered throughout Dane County).
History:
Family Enhancement began over 35 years ago as a group of parents who wanted to come together and talk about parenting issues. We have evolved to become a prevention, strength-based source of parenting information, classes, support and early childhood play and learn opportunities for Dane County families.
