Come volunteer at the Angel's Wish Pet Adoption and Resource Center in Verona, WI! Our current largest need is for volunteers on Saturdays between 9:30am and 4:30pm, and Sundays 12:30pm and 4:30pm. As our animals are not on the premises except during our open hours (they all live in foster homes), we only need help when we are open. We can divide this up into three shifts, approximately 9:30am to 11:45pm; 11:45am to 2:00pm; and 2:00pm to 4:30pm, and cover one, two, or all of these shifts as it fits into your schedule.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
(1) Pet caretakers. Provide a safe, clean, and comfortable experience for pets awaiting adoption. Prepare condos as animals arrive, clean litterboxes, and clean condos when animals leave (washing bedding, washing litterbox, and sanitizing condo). Maintain cleanliness of pet visiting rooms.
(2) Adoption consultants. Pet savvy people (or those willing to learn) to help make great pet and people matches. Provide recommendations, explain adoption process, and assist with pet visits.
(3) Retail area help. Welcome customers, stock items, inventory tracking, pricing, provide product recommendations for specific situations, and/or cashier.
(4) Office administration. Answer phones, computer work, make copies, assemble mailings, cashier, etc.
(5) Process Adoptions. Enter information in database, prepare paperwork, prepare new pet owner kits, etc.
(5) End of day clean-up. End of day shift: help to pack kitties up to go home to their foster parents, clean out condos, start laundry, sanitize condos, rooms, and floors, etc.
(6) Anything goes...on any given day, there is something to be done! You might be folding a newsletter one day and trimming cat claws the next. Hang around the center and you'll be kept busy.

We are not on a busline; you will need to provide your own transportation to Verona.

Overall Experience
A rewarding experience
|
We've been unable to help other than financially, with gifts of food and comfort accessories for Angel's Wish housing centers. But our reward were two wonderful kittens that have grown into loving delightful cats, that reward us daily. We want their efforts to continue, so that they will be there if we and when we need them again.
