Volunteers needed to assist the Golden Shears Salon staff at Oakwood Village East in bringing Oakwood Meadows memory care and Oakwood Village East Health Care and Rehabilitation facility residents to the salon for their appointments and help them return to their rooms afterwards. Volunteers are needed to assist once a week Mondays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. minimum. This assistance is greatly needed to ensure residents can get to the salon to get their hair done which helps residents continue their well-being in looking and feeling good. This is a weekly, ongoing commitment that a volunteer would need to make. Volunteer application, interview and orientation required with Volunteer Services Coordinator for registration and screening purposes for placement. Additional information and/or training provided by Silver Shears Salon staff member for new volunteer upon placement. Volunteers needed to have good social and organizational skills in working with residents and staff, and have physical ability to push residents in wheelchairs.
