Volunteer Opportunity Details:

2 volunteers needed to host "Movie Night" for Oakwood Village East Apartments residents up to 3 times a month, Thursday evenings, 5:00-10:00 p.m. Volunteer responsibilities include setting up equipment and chairs in designated room, introducing and running movie, making and serving popcorn, and clean up and reorganize at the end of the evening. Volunteers will work with the East Apartments Events and Activities Director to help select movies to be shown. This will be a great opportunity to get together and socialize with independent living residents and watch a variety of interesting movies with them. This assistance will benefit the residents' lives by helping to establish one of many activities that makes Oakwood Village East an interesting and dynamic place to live. It will also provide great assistance for the Events and Activities Director in being able to rely upon volunteers to lead this activity.

Volunteer application, interview and orientation required with Oakwood Village Volunteer Services Coordinator for registration and screening purposes to be considered for placement. Training provided by Oakwood Village East Apartments Events and Activities Director for new volunteers upon placement. Volunteers should have good social skills in working cooperatively with the Events and Activities Director and being a courteous host for the residents. Good organizational skills are also needed to be enabled to independently lead this activity.

Oakwood East is accessible by car only at this time.
