Volunteers needed to provide assistance with care of indoor plants at Oakwood Village West-Covenant Oaks memory care facility. Volunteers need to help once a week in the late afternoon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Volunteers will work with Covenant Oaks lead plant care volunteer in watering and repotting indoor plants. This assistance will be beneficial in helping to keep the Covenant Oaks indoor plants healthy for the enjoyment of Covenant Oaks residents and maintaining Covenant Oaks' warm, nurturing environment.

Potential volunteers need to go through application and interview process with Oakwood Village Volunteer Services Coordinator to be considered for placement. Orientation and training provided by Volunteer Services Coordinator, Covenant Oaks Events and Activities Director and lead plant care volunteer for new volunteers upon placement. Interested volunteers should have an interest and experience with caring for indoor plants, and have good organizational and social skills in working cooperatively with the lead volunteer and Events and Activities Director. Physical ability to help move and lift plants and pots, especially when repotting plants, needed. Volunteers also need to be courteous and considerate in interaction they may have with Covenant Oaks residents during their volunteer service time.
