Volunteers needed to establish and lead interest programs/activities for Covenant Oaks assisted living memory care residents at Oakwood Village West Retirement Community. Programs/activities can range from and be reading groups, trivia, humor, travel logs, karaoke and Wheel of Fortune. Volunteers will utilize a new computer program acquired by the Covenant Oaks Events and Activities Director to develop these programs that has an endless variety of interest programs/activities to develop for Covenant residents related to the volunteer's skills and residents' interests. Volunteers would need to lead a program/activity a few times a month to once a week for up to 1 hour. Day and time negotiable and flexible based on potential volunteers' availability and recommended days/times by Covenant Oaks Events and Activities Director.

Volunteers will work with Covenant Oaks Events and Activities Director to develop appropriate programs/activities based on residents' interests and needs that will be enjoyable for them and enhance the quality of their lives.

Required application and interview with Oakwood Village Volunteer Services Coordinator for registration and screening purposes to be considered for placement. Orientation and training provided by Volunteer Services Coordinator and Covenant Oaks Events and Activities Coordinator for volunteers upon placement. Volunteers need to have good organizational and social skills in working cooperatively with Activities Director and Covenant Oaks residents along with planning a special interest activity/program. Experience and comfort with public speaking to include having good, clear speaking voice necessary. Experience with computer use beneficial but training on computer program will be provided.
