Volunteer Opportunity Details:

We offer our members a free drop in child care service while they are utilizing our building or participating on-site programs. This enables parents of all income levels the opportunity to use the YMCA as an adult, and not worry about their children. The Child Watch serves ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. As a volunteer you will interact with the children, read stories, play games and hold babies.

Training will be provided. Volunteers should be able interact appropriately with the children served and their parents.

Directions:

The YMCA of Dane County has three location in the Madison area (East, West and Sun Prairie). The East YMCA is located on the near east side of Madison (711 Cottage Grove Road). From Hwy 51/Stoughton Road exit at Cottage Grove Road and turn west onto Cottage Grove Road (heading toward Lake Monona). The East YMCA is directly on your left on the corner of Claire Street and Cottage Grove Road. The West YMCA is located on the near west side of Madison (5515 Medical Circle). Exit Beltline Hwy at Whitney Way and turn north onto Whitney Way. The West YMCA can be seen from the Beltline and will be on your left. Turn left onto Odana Road - you will drive for 3-4 blocks - turn left onto Medical Circle. Follow Medical Circle and West YMCA entrance will be on your right. The Sun Prairie YMCA is located 10 minutes past Madison's far east side (160 South Street, Sun Prairie, WI 53590). Take Hwy 151 heading east (out of Madison). Take first Sun Prairie exit (Main Street) and continue on Main Street for approximately 1.5 miles. The Sun Prairie YMCA is located right next to the Sun Prairie High School. Turn right onto Kroncke Drive. The YMCA will be on left and is located in the old Sun Prairie Middle School.   Nearest Bus Stop: Bus #38, 2 minute walk
