“ No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” - Aesop
Volunteers make such an impact on Dane County with their passion and hard work. The Community Volunteer Awards recognize those people in our community who give of themselves and improve the lives and strengthen our community. These volunteers take time out of their lives to help someone you know for this special recognition.
Each year the United Way of Dane County, long with sponsorship form CUNA Mutual Group, present the Community Volunteer Awards. This year’s luncheon event will take place at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club on April 23rd.
There are three categories at the top of the nomination form. Please select the one that best describes your nominee. The volunteer categories are:
Individuals: a single volunteer
(If over 18 years old at the time of nomination, he or she will be considered an adult. If 18 or younger at the time of nomination, he or she will be considered a youth.)
Family, Group or Team : two or more individuals that volunteer as a team or consider themselves a family
(Note: Entire volunteer programs are not eligible; e.g., all crisis line volunteers or all food pantry volunteers are ineligible as a group.)
Business: a Dane County company that supports volunteer efforts by its employees
Nominations are judged by community volunteers whom then pick winners and honorees. Winners will receive a $1,000 contribution for their qualifying non-profit organization. One youth winner will receive a $500 contribution for his or her non-profit organization and a $500 scholarship for a post-secondary education.
