The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County is to develop communities by building and renovating homes in partnership with God and people from all walks of life so that every person may experience God’s love.
Description:
In Douglas County, Habitat for Humanity moves people into simple, decent, affordable, quality homes by providing no profit mortgages , promoting dignity and self-reliance, building leadership and teamwork, and transforming lives and communities. We also tithe 10% to build homes in Latin America and the Caribbean with a goal of helping to break the cycle of poverty.
History:
Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County became affiliated with HFHI in 1997. Since then, 21 families have moved into affordable, quality homes.
