Big Brothers Big Sisters

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth, primarily through a professionally supported one-to-one relationship with a caring adult, and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent, and caring individuals, by providing committed volunteers, community leadership, and standards of excellence in 5 counties: Etowah, Cherokee, DeKalb, Calhoun, and Talladega counties.

Description:
We provide adult role models to children and youth ages 6-15, as well as referral services, and sexual abuse training for both the youth and the volunteers. Our motto is "little moments, big magic," because volunteers feel that the experiences are worthwhile and fun!

History:
Our organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, is more than 100 years old. We have been in Etowah County since 1982 and celebrated our 25th Anniversary in 2007.
