| Spruce Run Association, The domestic violence project serving Penobscot County, is seeking volunteers to help provide services to people affected by domestic abuse. No prior experience is required! Hotline Training: Spruce Run will be providing a 43-hour training for hotline workers. This training prepares you to support people affected by domestic abuse on our 24-hour hotline. Hotline volunteers complete shifts from home nights and weekends. You may also choose to work at Spruce Run’s Resource Center weekdays. Work-study and Continuing Education Units are available. Training includes presentations on the dynamics of domestic abuse and crisis intervention skills development. Office Help: Spruce Run is always looking for volunteers to help with telephone/office reception, clerical and miscellaneous tasks/projects around the Resource Center. Volunteers who can offer a half-day or full day each week are most helpful.
