The Eaa-Z Fix It Program is a newly created project reaching out to 15 towns within a 25 mile radius of Bangor. It is a minor home repair and maintenance service for people age 60 and over who are unable to maintain their homes because of physical or financial limitation. We are recruiting volunteers to provide specified repairs to help them. The work will be provided at homes owned by seniors or to personal property (like small appliance repair), but services will not be provided to renter's dwellings as that is the responsibility of their landlord. Activities include tasks such as lawn care, weather-stripping, window installation, window washing, repairing leaky faucets, repairing light fixtures and snow shoveling. Volunteers may donate as much or as little time as they want. The client takes care of the expense of materials. Volunteers are needed so that the elderly person may remain safe and independent in their own homes. If you are a handy person or like puttering, please give me a call.
