The American Folk Festival will present music, dance and other performing arts representing cultural traditions from across America and the world, showcase and market the Bangor Waterfront, the greater Bangor area, Maine by attracting thousands of festival-goers each year, encourage community participation through volunteerism and attendance, ally the Festival's philosophy with the City of Bangor's mission, vision and objectives. The 2005 American Folk Festival is happening on August 26,27,28 2005 on the waterfront in downtown Bangor. Volunteers are key to the success of the festival, helping with performer check-in, information, volunteer registration, parking, site set-up, vending, chauffeuring, backstage hospitality and music logging. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least 2, 3-4 hour, shifts. All are welcome to volunteer. Volunteers under the age of 16 must volunteer with a guardian.
