Community Agencies Corporation of NJ is a family of non-profit agencies that works collaboratively to deliver programs and services that enhance and strengthen the lives of children and families of the Greater Newark Metropolitan area.
Description:
Protestant Community Centers, Inc (PCCI) manages the largest one-to-one tutoring program in New Jersey located at sites throughout Northern New Jersey. The Suburban Cultural Educational Enrichment Program (SCEEP) and Downtown Educational Enrichment Program-Corporate (DEEP-C) are located in churches, universities, private schools and some of the largest corporations in the country. Children visit the sites once a week for intense tutoring and valuable enrichment activities. We also manage an emergency food pantry, one of the largest Reading Is Fundamental programs in the Northeast and an assortment of activities at the Quitman Street Community School.
History:
Founded in 1967, PCCI has grown into one of the most effective providers of educational, enrichment, and spiritual services in New Jersey. Over 10 years ago, the agency created Community Agencies Corp of NJ which provides management to three sister agencies - PCCI, Cross Counters, Inc (CCI) and Friendly Fuld Neighborhood Center. These CAC of NJ agencies provide services ranging from educational and enrichment to job training and placement, group homes for abused and neglected boys and girls as well as a home for boarder babies.
