The volunteer will prepare each lesson to meet the individual needs of the student. The volunteer will identify the student's special interest areas and integrate related materials. The volunteer will inform the literacy coordinator of problems encountered in tutoring sessions, as well as, the need for special materials and/or training. The volunteer will provide encouragement and support to the student. Volunteer must be dependable and prompt, interested in others and able to relate to them, respectful of confidentiality, flexible, friendly and patient. Completion of a 3-hour orientation/training is required.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Senior Citizens Association
