DNB, Inc.’s mission is to take a leadership role in ensuring that the downtown New Bedford District is a vibrant place to live, work and visit.

Description:
DNB, Inc. was formed to undertake activities designed to preserve New Bedford's traditional downtown area as a healthy economically vital center of commerce and social activity, and to promote preservation, rehabilitation, and reuse of commercial, civic, and residential buildings in its traditional business district.

DNB, Inc. gives downtown business the forum for collective voice to work on issues that concern the Downtown area.

DNB, Inc. maintains a close and cooperative liaison with City Hall and the various departments of the City that affect businesses such as public safety, cleanliness, parking and municipal regulations and laws.

DNB, Inc. maintains a close and regular communication with its membership through a quarterly newsletter, The Downtown Beat".

DNB, Inc. is the coordinating office for downtown business funding through the Downtown Loan Program. This $3,000,000 plus fund has been set aside by regional banks for Downtown business needs and offers attractive financing rates to credit worthy businesses.

DNB, Inc. generates a Visitor Guide annually to support retail, restaurants, galleries and other small business located in the downtown.

DNB, Inc. maintains a building inventory to help potential businesses identify locations in the downtown available for lease or purchase.

DNB, Inc. works closely with the community police officers in an effort to keep Downtown a safe place for people to live, work and visit.

DNB, Inc. holds two festivals in Downtown, Taste our SouthCoast and New Bedford Seaport Chowder Festival, to encourage people to visit Downtown New Bedford.

Downtown New Bedford, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3)community organization that has been in existence since 1989. Downtown New Bedford, Inc.'s is committed to making downtown New Bedford a better place to live, work and visit.
