Share what you know and love with the children of New Bedford! WHO: Any individual or group with skills to share with young people aged 11-14! WHAT: Teach your profession or hobby in after-school apprenticeships. No teaching experience is necessary! All Citizen Schools volunteers receive intensive training and are supported by a full-time, professional educator every step of the way. Lawyers turn their apprentices into prosecutors, artists cultivate young muralists, gardeners lead a team of twelve-year-old green thumbs. WHEN: Volunteers teach weekly 90-minute learning projects for 11 afternoons. The fall session begins with trainings in late August and ends in mid-December. WHERE: Citizen Schools runs at the Keith Middle School (225 Hathaway Boulevard) and the Normandin Middle School (81 Felton Street).
