Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Plan, develop, and implement a volunteer program by recruiting and supervising volunteers, and informational programs in support of the Southeastern Mass. Veterans Housing Program, Inc. (VTH) and its various programs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Executive Director of the Veteran Transition House.

Recruit volunteers for support work and recommend assignments that will make the best use of individual talents; develop training programs for volunteers and VTH staff who use volunteers; serve on task forces and committees related to volunteerism; receive and acknowledge gifts in conformance with VTH policies; maintain public contacts in community and public/private sectors to implement volunteer strategies; promote public awareness of volunteering at VTH, as well as its needs for volunteers, by writing press releases and making public appearances; reviews program policies and procedures for volunteers; maintains time records and applications; plans, organizes, and implements volunteer recognition events; assists staff in writing grant applications for programs utilizing volunteers; demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality client service.
