Vision

United Way of Greater New Haven envisions a vibrant region in which children are nurtured and have excellent opportunities beginning at birth, individuals and families are financially stable and people of all ages are connected to one another and hopeful about the future.

Mission

United Way brings together the caring power of people to create change in our region and to improve lives.
United Way’s community investments, leadership and resource development efforts are focused on two critical and inter-related issues facing our region: education and economic disparity. 

Our Priorities

United Way can be most effective when it works with partners to improve lives and change conditions in our community through a set of focused community priorities.  Based on what we learned through Community Compass – that our region’s greatest challenges are economic and educational disparity – we are working within three priority areas:

• Education - Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
• Income - Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
• Health - Improving People’s Health
